The Romanian Andreea Răducan won in 2000 at the Games in Sydney, the turn final in the individual all-around. In the subsequent doping control, he was tested positive for pseudoephedrine. Before the competition, the team doctor had given her a remedy for a cold. Răducan had unknowingly taken doping. The doctor was banned for four years. She was disqualified and was deprived of the gold medal. The following athletes moved in the ranking. The case roused the Romanian folk soul, demonstrations of solidarity with Andreea Răducan. This gold medal was lost anyway. However, she was allowed to keep her medals won previously.
