57:50.58The American Tyler Hamilton was celebrated as the winner in 57: 34.74. The A sample gives blood doping with alien blood. However, since the B-sample was unusable due to a wrong storage, he was able to retain his gold medal for the time being. A lawsuit by second-placed Russian Vyacheslav Yekimov was dismissed, as only the IOC and the World Association UCI are entitled to do so. Several months later, Hamilton was convicted of blood doping again, but he wanted to excuse himself with the excuse that the blood came from a deceased, prenatal twin. He was locked for two years.
