82.5kg. Ibragim Samadov, from the Commonwealth of Independent States, produced 370 kg, the same performance as the Greek Pyrros Dimas and the Pole Krysztof Siemion. Dimas was the lightest, so he was awarded the gold medal, Samadov the bronze medal, as he was the heaviest of the three athletes. At the award ceremony, there was a scandal. The Greek IOC member Nikos Filaretos handed Samadov the bronze medal, which threw it contemptuously on the floor and left the hall. The next day, Samadov received the bill for his behavior presented by the IOC Executive: disqualification, withdrawal of accreditation and life-long suspension.
