Ten months after the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, the German television station ARD broadcast the documentary film “Secret Doping - How Russia Makes Its Winners” and released the first indications of state-practiced doping in Russia. As a result, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) commissioned an investigation into the system of Russian state doping since 2011. After the chief investigator Richard McLaren, the report was named McLaren Report and had the consequence that Russia was a state from 2018 onwards Olympic Games was excluded and only single, innocent athletes were allowed to participate as independent athletes. The two bobsledders Alexandr Subkov and Aleksey Voveyvoda had won the gold medal in two-man and four-man bobsleigh. The McLearen Report disqualified them and locked them for life. The fourth-placed Russian team 2 was also disqualified. The following teams moved up.
