Most years between medals Most years between medals
The human body enables Olympic peak performance in many sports such as athletics, swimming, gymnastics only up to about 35 years. There are usually only a few sports that allow athletes to achieve peak performance over a period of 20 years or more: sailing, rowing, equestrian, fencing, canoeing and kayaking, shooting, archery. Nevertheless, there are always exceptions in other sports. Noteworthy is the swimmer Dara Torres who won her first medal at the age of 17 and her last medal at the age of 41! The ski jumper Noriaki Kasai, the luger Armin Zöggeler and the athlete Merlene Ottey-Page were again successful 20 years after their first medals!

The list includes all athletes who won medals over a period of 20 years.
